

CLIMBING MOUNT KILIMANJARO

6 DAYS - MARANGU ROUTE
Day 1: Transfere / Marangu - Depart your hotel for a transfer to Taveta or Namanga border thenkilimanjaro proceed to Marangu for lunch. Afternoon at leisure, re-climb briefing on the trek. Dinner and overnight at Nakara Hotel.
Day 2: Montane Forest - Drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Marangu for the first section of the climb through the Montane Forest, leaving the forest you trek along a good path through open grassy moorland to reach Horombo Hut at 12000ft (3700)m, taking 8 to10 hours. Dinner and overnight at Horombo hut.
Day 3: Kibo Hut - Continue ascending past 'the last water point' traversing thee saddle between kibo and Mawenzi to Kibo Hut at 15000ft (4700)m, taking 5 to 7 hours. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 4: Peak - An early start for the summit on steep and heavy screed up to Gilman's point at 1,8640ft (5681)m.
On the crater rim to arrive in time for sunrise. Continue on to Uhuru Peak the highest point in Africa at 19340ft (5896)m. Descend to Horombo, taking 7 to 8 hours ascent and 4 to 7 hours descent. Dinner and overnight at Horombo hut.
Day 5: Descend - Descend the mountain to the park gate taking 5 to 7 hours to be met and transferred to Marangu. Dinner and overnight at Nakara Hotel.
Day 6: Marangu / Nairobi or Mombasa - After breakfast drive to the border to get transfered back to Nairobi or Mombasa to extend your holiday in the coastal beach hotels.
CLIMBING MOUNT KENYA

5 DAYS - SERMON ROUTE
Day 1: Nairobi / Nanyuki - Depart your hotel and drive to Mount Kenya region for lunch. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing with a walk to the Equator crossing. Dinner and overnight at a nice hotel in Nanyuki.
Day 2: Nanyuki / Old Moses Camp - Transfer from your Nanyuki hotel after breakfast to the park gate where the climbing starts. Walk through the main forest for 9kms (5-hrs walk) to the first mountain hut-Old Moses (3,300m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Old Moses / Shipton Camp - After breakfast in Old Moses, continue climbing through Mackinders valley to the second hut, Shipton Hut (4,200 m) for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Shipton Hut / Old Moses Camp - Early in the morning,
climb to point Lenana, 4,985 m (17,058ft). On a very clear day, you should be able to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the south, Mt. Elgon to the west and Indian ocean to the east. Descend to Shipton camp for breakfast and proceed descending to Old Moses for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Old Moses / Nairobi - After breakfast transfer from old Moses to catch your bus and drive back to Nairobi for lunch. You can get transfered to Mombasa to extend your holiday in the coastal beach hotels upon your request.
5 DAYS - NARO MORU ROUTE
Day 1: Nairobi / Naro Moru - Depart your hotel and drive to Naro Moru town for lunch. After lunch proceed to the Youth Hostel for the rest of the day and night acclimatizing. Dinner and overnight at the Youth Hostel.
Day 2: Naro Moru – Met Station - After breakfast take a picnic lunch and drive to the main gate. Start ascending the mountain through the Rain forest for10 kms to the Met station for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Met Station / Mackinders Hut - After breakfast continue ascending to Mackinders camp. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at the Mackinders camp.
Day 4: Mackinders Hut / Met Station - Wake up very early in the morning , attempt Point Lenana via Austrian Hut. After Point Lenana (17,058 ft), descend down to Met Station for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Met Station / Nairobi - After breakfast, descend the last bit of the mountain from Met station via Naro Moru main gate then proceed on a short drive to Naro Moru town for lunch. Continue on your drive to Nairobi or get transfered to Mombasa to extend your holiday in the coastal beach hotels.

CLIMBING MOUNT MERU

3 DAYS - MOUNT MERU
Day 1: Transfere / Marangu - Depart your hotel for a transfer to Taveta or Namanga border thenkilimanjaro proceed to
8 DAYS - MACHAME ROUTE
Day 1: Transfere - Arusha - Depart your hotel for a transfere to Taveta or Namanga border. Proceedkilimanjaro to Arusha town for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure acclimatizing. Dinner and overnight at a nice hotel in Arusha.
Day 2: Arusha / Machame - Drive to Machame village. The climb begins at the end of the tarmac road. Walk throw the farms and through the forest to the Machame Hut (3000m) in about 6 hours. Dinner and overnight in the tents.
Day 3:Machame / Shira - Cross the village and continue along the steep ridge going on the rock ridge and through heather, the route turns west into a river gorge reaching Shira hut (3800m). Dinner and overnight in the tents.
Day 4: Shira / Barranco - Continue east towards Kibo passing the junction, then east towards the lava towers. Shortly after, climb down to Barranco hut (3940 m). Dinner and overnight in the tents.
Day 5: Barranco / Barafu - From Barranco, a steep rocky climb ,
Day 6: Barafu / Mweka / Horombo - Very early start for the summit, first to Stella point and then to Uhuru peak ( 5896m). There are two ways to descend on this route to Marangu or Mweka. The Mweka hut will take about 6 hours. The route is steep but picturesque. The Marangu route to Uhuru to Kibo to Horombo is the main route, it is easier but can be dusty and busy, and it is also longer.
Day 7: Mweka / Horombo / Arusha - Mweka hut to Mweka gate will take about three hours .Horombo to Marangu gate will take about 6 hours. Drive to Arusha for hot showers, dinner and warm bed.
Day 8: Arusha / Nairobi or Mombasa - After breakfast drive to the border to get transfered back to Nairobi or Mombasa to extend your holiday in the coastal beach hotels.


8 DAYS - MACHAME ROUTE
